American University’s School of Business was founded in 1955 as the first university-level school of business in the District of Columbia. It was named after Robert and Arlene Kogod in 1979. Mr. Kogod is a 1962 alumnus of the undergraduate program and former Co-Chairman/Co-CEO of the Charles E. Smith Commercial Realty and Charles E. Smith Residential Realty companies.
