When was the first car defroster invented?
I’m certain my mother was one of the earliest car defroster inventers. I can just barely remember it – – It was January 1947 in the Texas “Panhandle”, and we were returning from a funeral in rainy, freezing weather. While my uncle drove our old ’39 Ford, mother held a lighted candle as closely as possible to the windshield to help keep it clear. I don’t remember to what degree it was effective, but probably not a lot.
