when was the book of mormon written?
I am working on a paper related to complexity theory and the evolution of religious organisms. In that regard, about a year ago I came across Steve Farmer’s work (see http://www.safarmer.com/Farmer.Beijingpaper2.pdf and http://www.safarmer.com/simulations.pdf for samples), and recently recommenced a correspondence with him. This note is my attempt to summarize my thinking with regard to his work for purposes of furthering my discussion with him, and inviting a number of other people who are far more knowledgeable than I am with regard to the relevant issues to participate in that discussion. Farmer’s work is relevant to two issues that have fascinated me for some time. First, when, where and by whom was the Book of Mormon written? And second, how do religious organisms in general tend to evolve, and to what extent do complexity theory-based models of social evolution help us to predict the probable evolutionary paths of groups like the Mormon Church, radical Islam, and other literalist
