Windows was first announced in 1983. After Bill Gates saw and Apple Lisa in operation, he realized that that was the future of computer OS’s and started working on a graphical user interface (GUI) to work with DOS. However, Windows 1.0 was not actually released to the public until 1985 by which time Apple was already onto it second or third generation GUI OS based computer. Microsoft has been mostly playing catchup to the Mac OS ever since. [Gees, do you get get the idea that I am some what biased when it come to computer OS’s? 😉 Oh well. To each there own.
