Georgian Bay Islands National Park was officially established in December 1929. No, it has never been called Beausoleil Island National Park. This name seems to stick because of the whitewashed rocks, which spelled out ” National Park of Canada – Beausoleil Island.” This was displayed on the hillside near Cedar Spring from 1931-70.
