When was China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred as the “Bank) founded?
Founded in 1987 and originally named CITIC Industrial Bank, China CITIC Bank is one of the earliest new commercial banks in China since Chinas reform and opening-up and the first commercial bank engaged in financing on domestic and overseas financial markets. Now, it is renowned at home and abroad for creating many firsts in Chinas modern financial history. In August 2005, CITIC Industrial Bank changed its name to China CITIC Bank. In December 2006, China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited was formally established with CITIC Group and CITIC International Financial Holdings Limited as its shareholders. In the same year, the Bank established complementary strategic cooperative relationship with BBVA, a leading bank in Europe.
