When was a noun,verb,adverb,preposition,a… pronoun,and interjection?
A NOUN is a person, place, or thing. These words may or may not be capitalized depending on the situation. (NOTE: Nouns that are capitalized are called PROPER NOUNS, and these include place names, names of persons, etc.) A PRONOUN is, basically, a less formal version of a noun. If you’ve ever watched School House Rock, they explain PRONOUNS as being words that people use to make the language less clunky. Instead of saying, for example, “Sandry got Sandry’s coat from Sandry’s closet,” you would say instead, “SHE got HER coat from HER closet.” The pronoun insinuates the noun used in the sentence without necessarily determining the actual noun. Common pronouns are: He, She, It, They, Their, etc. Think of a PRONOUN as being a NOUN without a “name”. A VERB is an “action word”. It is used to describe an action, when something is happening or has happened, or will happen, etc. Like in the sentences, “I WROTE a book”, “I’m WRITING a book”, “I WILL WRITE a book”, the verb used in those sentence
