When Maxell Data Compression Software stores compressed files, it will assign each file a unique file extension of the form .^xx. WARNING: Do not rename a file that has been compressed by Maxell Data Compression Software or by the compress/uncompress utility. Also, in a small percentage of synchronizations, a particular file may not be compressed. This is because another file in the same directory uses the same compressed file name.
