From an ENT doctors professional experience, we dont recommend the use of tap water when irrigating the nose. To the nasal mucosa, tap waters density is lower than that of the nasal cells liquid concentration. It will force the electricals of the nasal mucosa out of the nasal cells and hurt the nasal mucosa. Also if you use tap water, you will feel a stinging pain in the sinus, which is uncomfortable.
