When using network encode slaves, its important that the slaves be able to reach the data. After all, what good is a network of encode slaves if they can read the data you want it to work on ?
On a machine with a fast network connection and large harddrive, create a windows share that machines can both read and write to. For example: On Machine “xpungeme”, I have a directory on drive C called “video” that I want to use as the source location for all the video. I tell windows to share this directory, and from then on anyone on the LAN can read or write to this directory by simply using the path “\\xpungeme\video\”. Verify that each encode slave can read from and write to this network location.
