Aspect ratio greater than 5 can be approved provided that one specimen of the greatest aspect ratio and size is tested to the corresponding pressure in ASTM E1300 with an aspect ratio of 5. This corresponds to glass plate sizes that fall in the shaded area of the graph shown below. If approval of such aspect ratio sizes are sought these are to be considered when developing a test plan.
