WHEN TWO BEST FRIENDS HIT A CROSSROAD WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Here is a movie that won’t get much air time or media hype but should because of grocery list of good things. A ROOM FOR ROMEO BASS is directed by Shane Meadows and will make you laugh, gasp and even may bug you a little bit. It’s about two poor kids growing up somewhere in Europe (I think England) and there struggles. Romeo Bass (Shane Meadows) is the main character and he lives with his mom Carol Bass (Landene Brass) and his sister Ladine (Vicky McClure), in a poor neighborhood, minus a dad (more on him later in this review) in this family tree. Romeo’s best friend Gavin ‘Knocks’ Woolley (Ben Marshall) has a problem with his leg, and has a heavy limp, but these two friends do everything together, including being next door neighbors. Romeo and Knocks meet a very interesting character named Morell (Paddy Considine) during a fight with some high school kids. Soon thereafter Morell is hanging out with them and trying to be there new best friend as well as hitting on Romeo’s sister every
