An overall vision could be to have one corporate layer in a BI environment with all transactional data (original documents) and all master data as the foundation for BI needs and for legal and compliance driven archiving strategies. Under such circumstances, NetWeaver BI takes over archiving responsibilities for its ERP clients. However, this remains to be seen. Currently, ERP and BI data aging strategies have to be treated separately.
