When to take codeine?

Hi, can I ask where you got codeine tablets from and also what strength? Since you cannot buy pure codeine tablets at the pharmacy, I’m assuming that the doctor prescribed you some or that it is someone else’s. Pure codeine comes in 15mg, 30mg and 60mg on prescription and should only be taken if it is prescribed for you. However if you find that paracetamol alone is not enough, you can purchase Co-codamol at your local pharmacy (paracetamol 500mg + codeine 8mg). Bear in mind that one of the common side effects of codeine are nausea, constipation and drowsiness so just be careful with that if you’re not feeling too well anyway. Alternatively if you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen at alternate doses because also they are both analgesics (painkillers) they work in different ways so you can have an additive effect. Hope this helps.
