In my opinion, I think 2 is too young. the child has a lifetime of learning ahead of him/her. My daughter will be two soon and I want her to enjoy her toddler years without all the structure of a school setting. I think it is important to let them explore/play without the structure to let them help develop their personalities. I am planning on starting my daughter in preschool when she is 3.5- 4 years old for two days a week and that will get her ready for kindergarten when the time comes. At 18 months old, my daughter knew her ABC’s, counted to twenty, knew most of her colors and shapes. She also sings many nursery songs and has a great vocabulary (speaks in sentences). My daughter does not go to daycare….We let her learn at her own pace without all the “drilling”. She learned this through reading and singing!
