When there is no nutrition labelling on a package because the package is too small to accommodate it, where can the consumer obtain the information?
Consumers can obtain the nutrition information about the food from the manufacturer who is required to provide an indication on the label, in a type size not less than 8 point type, of how they may obtain the nutrition information. The manufacturer can provide either a toll free number or the company postal address [B.01.467(3)(b)]. A manufacturer may also provide a website address, but this cannot substitute for either the required toll free number or the postal code. The information must be provided in either official language as requested by the consumer.
