When the venus will pass the earth and do the phenomena retrograde motion?

0

We don’t see Venus do retrograde motion when it passes us. Mars is further out than us so, as we move faster than it, as we pass it, it seems to relatively move backwards (around the time it is at opposition). Venus is interior to us, so it passes us, we don’t pass it. From Venus you could see the Earth move in retrograde motion. The frequency of retrograde motions depends on what planets you are talking about. That said, we do see the planet Venus appear to move backwards “retrograde” when it is on the opposite side of the sun, NOT when it passes us (when it passes us it appears to move the fastest). Venus will be closest to us, and pass us, when it is at inferior conjunction. This is due to happen on March 28, 2009. It will appear to move backwards or retrograde, when it is on the opposite side of the sun, at superior conjunction. It looks like this will happen sooner, on June 9, 2008.
