When the time is noon in Ottowa, what time is it in Belgium? ?
It’s a bit more complicated… Ottawa is EST – means GMT -5 Belgium is MEZ – means GMT +1 So 12:00 Ottawa is 18:00 Belgium. Now both Ottawa and Belgium have Daylight Times… Ottawa: ESDT = GMT -4 Belgium: MESZ = GMT +2 Again, 12:00 Ottawa is 18:00 Begium. But… the periods of Daylight Time differ. MESZ is always from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. I don’t know the period of Daylight Time in Ontario, but I guess it is from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. So between the second Sunday and the last Sunday in March the difference is not 6 but 5 hours (noon CA = 5pm BE) as well as between the last Sunday in October and the first Sunday in November.
