Remember, there were no courts and no real disciplinary measures there. Therefore, anything goes. Regarding rape, though, not much documentation could support that because it wouldn’t have been important in that era’s historical context. However, considering the Spanish’s treatment of the natives in the New World, it would not be surprising to see that happen regularly.
