When the RSS/RVS 2011 Virtual Mode or RVS 2010 System Safe feature is enabled should I turn off System Restore services in Windows?
Yes and no as it depends on which version of the software you are currently using: RSS Pro 2011 includes a fully function System Restore feature that works whether the Virtualization is active or not, With Virtual Mode active however, new restore points will not survive the restart of your computer so you should take time to make restore points manually following any updates you make to the real system. For RVS Pro/Lite 2011 and RVS 2010 with the virtual protection active, changes made to the System Partition are lost at restart by default. This means any Windows Restore Points made during this time will simply disappear so having it active at this point would be a waste of system resources. Manual Restore points are still valid and should be made regularly with Virtual Mode/System Safe deactivated.
