When someone gets deceived by false teachings is it their fault or the teachers fault?
Both are to blame, you as the believer have access to the bible to read and study it for yourself. You are to follow the words of God not those of man. The bible is God’s instruction for us. There is great punishment for those who teach false doctrines also. Jeremiah 23 1 “Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD. 2 Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the LORD.
Being decieved is a gift in a sense that it proves we are still innocent. About our teachers, I think as long as they can decieve us out of our own ignorance and innocense, it is their problem, not ours. But once we can see our (so-called) teacher’s true faces or the evil hidden behind their teachings, we must separate ourselves from them, not from their teachings. Their teachings can help us for the rest of our lives to recognize good from evil or vice versa. Anyone who’d wrong me, he/she would be able to do it only “once”, and if I allow myself to be wronged by the same person, then who is the real fool and the most stupid person? There’s a saying in Islam that a true believer can never be stung from the same hole. About myself, let me give you an example. Until this age of 39, I had never ever loved a woman and given all of the priorities to a family, career, education, etc. However, last year, a woman met me and tried to win my heart, seeking refuge from the decietful people of her
