When signing up for Alumnilife I am prompted to sign up for email for life or eforwarding. What is the difference?
When you sign up for email for life, you continue to use your McGill email address (first.last@mail.mcgill.ca) with your 200 mb Exchange mailbox. Email forwarding does not give you a mailbox, but rather the ability to forward mail sent to your McGill Email Address (first.last@mail.mcgill.ca) to another mailbox of your choosing. If you don’t need either of the two emailing services, we’d advise you to sign up for email for life and then leave the account inactive for six months. Your email for life account will then automatically be deactivated. Note that this deactivation will NOT affect your access to the Alumnilife website. If you ever need to reactivate the account, please use this form.
