When should the hard drive overlay program be loaded on computers with Western Digital Add-on hard drives?
This hard drive is retail packaged from Western Digital. Normally the hard drive overlay program is used on older computers with a BIOS that did not support the size of the hard drive. If the motherboard only supports up to an 8.4 GB (gigabyte) hard drive and the customer would like to install a 20 GB hard drive, then a drive overlay program must be used to access the full size of the hard drive. Reference the BIOS on each motherboard to determine if the motherboard BIOS has drive size limitations. Western Digital fully supports the hard drive and drive overlay software. The drive overlay software should ship with Add-on hard drives.
