When should spark plugs be replaced?
If this Jeep is equipped with standard resistor spark plugs (not platinum) then is may need to have the plugs replaced as early as every 30,000 miles. These plugs wear quickly just like the old plugs from back late 70’s to early 80’s. Your owners manual should have a preventative maintenance schedule for the vehicle, check it and see what is recommended. The spark plugs that can live effectively to 100,000 miles are usually platinum or iridium type. Keep in mind that these standard type resistor spark plugs can run longer than 30,000 miles but may not be efficient after 30,000 miles–meaning poor fuel mileage. Hope this helps..
