When Should Physicians Use AlloDerm on Pennsylvania Hernia Repair Patients?
The fact is that throughout history, medical practitioners have tried many approaches to replace lost, damaged or diseased tissue in patients. Some methods have used synthetic materials, and others have used cross-linked biological materials, biosynthetic constructs or surgical mesh like AlloDerm. During the exploration of these approaches, there has been increasing evidence that, because of human tissue’s complexity, it is essential that the physician understand the tissue’s normal structure and the way these allograft materials alter or preserve it. This is especially important when a physician is considering remodeling of the allograft mesh after implanting it into the patient.
