When should physical education instruction be modified or moved indoors due to environmental factors?
Because of California’s diverse climate conditions, these decisions are best made by LEAs, often with the assistance of other local agencies that monitor air quality and weather. Unhealthy air quality, extreme temperatures, high winds, etc. may present conditions where it is appropriate to modify activity levels or move physical education instruction indoors.
