When should my poodle puppy get its first haircut?
Everyone loves a fuzzy puppy but it is important to take your puppy to the groomer so they get used to the environment. Don’t wait until your puppy is 6 months old for its first haircut. A puppy should have had atleast one haircut prior to you picking it up. Plan on regular grooming every 4-6 weeks throughout it’s life (depending on the hairstyle and your ability to brush your dog regularly). If you like the fuzzy look get your puppy bathed and a minimal trim, face scissored around the eyes, bottoms of the feet trimmed (so the puppy has good traction and can walk well) and don’t forget the sanitary areas. Do your pup a favor and get them accustomed to the process early, your pup will thank you and so will your groomer.
