When should MSD be contacted regarding the possible encroachment?
The property owner should contact MSD prior to having design drawings prepared for the proposed encroachment to determine if there is a sewer within the easement and what is needed to determine whether or not MSD would allow the encroachment. Also, to determine what foundation requirements or modifications may be required, at the property owner’s expense.
