You can have the toddler formula once or twice a day so he gets all his nutrients and just have full fat cows milk for the rest of the day but the toddler milk in a cup you also can actually buy milk just for toddlers so see how that goes babies can be over 12 months to have normal milk

You can start whole milk now. Babies sometimes get a bit constipated or the other direction when making the switch from formula to milk. Start slowly. If he drinks an 8 oz bottle, start with 6 oz of formula and 2 oz of milk. Do that for a week. The next week, do 4 oz milk, 4 oz formula. The third week, 6 oz milk, 2 oz formula. The fourth week, all milk. If at any time, he starts acting odd (gassier, diarrhea, vomiting, etc) stop the process and talk to your doctor about milk allergies or lactose intolerance.

Hey everyone! Vicky said it very well! Formula is made after human breast milk and is best suited to feed humans. Cow’s milk is meant for the nutrition of baby cows! Don’t be thumbs downing her for that! You can at anytime begin introducing your son to cow’s milk, because he doesn’t really need formula after one year old. You should probably consult your child’s pediatrician before making the switch just to make sure he is ready especially since you are concerned about his weight. Formula does have more nutrients than cows milk and there are formulas made to give babies until 24 months such as the one in the link below. I might consider keeping him on formula for a while longer if he has a poor diet or does not get the average amount of solids that most 13 month olds are getting. If he isn’t receiving nutrients, vitamins, minerals from solids, then he needs to get them from formula. Cow’s milk just is not going to cut it like formula would.

He should be drinking cow’s milk now they do have toddler formula you can give him but it’s not necessary.Just make sure it’s whole milk.

He can have cows milk now. If he’s a poor eater of solids, it makes good nutrtional sense to stick with formula a bit longer (since it DOES have more nutrients), but he can have some cows milk at a beverage, along with formula for the nutrients.
