When should I plant winter flowering cyclamen?

0

I sow mine from April onwards, usually giving them darkness. If your seed is fresh, then this will be fine, potentially a little earlier if you provide the correct conditions for them. I grow a lot of cyclamen, cyclamen coum being my most reliable winter flowerer, and still in flower now. Cyclamen cyprium is mostly hardy as a winter flowering plant but can, like other cyclamen species, be grown in a greenhouse etc, so that its blooms are not damaged by freezes etc. You could also try the more tender Cyclamen alpinum. So, for rapid growth, ease of spreading by seed, I’d go for Cylamen coum, and it’s usually fairly readily available, as well as hardy. It’s variable in leaf and flower colour, with silver marbling, red/pink to white flowers. This in part is down to your tastes, as well as locality and growing environments. Hope this helps. Good luck!
