When should I buy a capacitance graded PCORE Bushing instead of a PCORE Dry Type?
A PCORE Dry Type Bushing is best suited for distribution equipment requiring a reliable, rugged, low cost bushing. The bushings are completely weather tight but are not recommended for use where capacitance-graded oil or moisture proof bushings are required. While a PCORE Dry Type will pass 60-second cycle withstand requirements, there is no guarantee they will pass partial discharge or power factor requirements. Using a PCORE capacitance graded bushing best fulfills these requirements.
