When should a student consider taking a course pass/fail?

0

Only junior and senior students are eligible to take courses pass/fail. The purpose of the Pass/Fail option is to give a student an opportunity to take a course that challenges his or her ability. (In other words, a student might not take this course if the Pass/Fail option were not available.) This option also encourages a broadening of interest and experiences in elective areas, such as Art, Music, Business, Life Science, and Tech Arts without causing a negative impact on grade point average and class rank. Courses being used to meet specific graduation requirements cannot be taken Pass/Fail, and only one class per semester in the students junior and senior year may be taken pass/fail. Please see the Parent Survival Guide Section 1.0 Academics for more information on the pass/fail option.
