When should a CRB check be undertaken as opposed to a List 99 check?
List 99 checks must be undertaken on everyone working in the school, including staff and governors, who have contact with children, before they start work. List 99 is automatically checked as part of the CRB disclosure process. However, where a disclosure remains outstanding when an individual begins work, a List 99 check must have been completed.
