When should a child stop taking Medication for ADHD?

There is no right answer for this question. My son has adhd. He was diagnosed when he was 6 and it was trial and error with different meds for years. Now he is 14. Last year he told me that he didnt want to take the meds anymore. He didnt like the way they made him feel. So we decided to try him off of them. Yes there are days when he does need it but we deal with each challenge as it happens and over all he has done pretty well with out them. Most importantly he is himself and feels better. Talk to your child and his pediatrician and do what you think is best for your child.
