When searching for a QuantiTect Primer Assay for my gene of interest, why do I only find the assay for human but not for rat?

Since we only use official gene names from Entrez to name our assays, the name of the rat assay may differ from that of the human assay. For example, the IL17 gene in human is known as the LOC301289 gene in rat.
