When you click on the Classlist’s Download to Excel link, you may be asked whether you want to open the classlist in Excel or save it as file. If you chose to open it immediately in Excel, the classlist will be formatted for you. If you chose to save it as file, the file is saved as pipe (“|” located under the backspace key) delimited text. When you open it later, Excel will display a Table Import Wizard. These are the steps to follow to format it in Excel: Step 1: Select Delimited. Step 2: Click on Other in the Delimiters checkbox area. Then type the pipe symbol on the space beside it. The pipe “|” symbol is located just below the backspace key on your keyboard. Step 3: Click on the Student ID column and select Text for the column data format. Click on Finish when done.
