Yes. You have to be very concerned with any other animal (including dogs) eating rat bait. Also remember that if one of those rats ingest the bait and then you dog ends up catching it after, your dog can be poisoned that way too. I bought live traps for mice. It’s like a little plastic house with a trap door. It walks in, door shuts behind it. Then on the other side you have a cracker with a plastic piece closing it in. You bring the trap far away, take out the plastic piece and the rodent will eat through the cracker to get out. ADD: When you use a trap like I’m talking about – you don’t have to release it outside your property. I DRIVE it 10 minutes away from my house at least, and believe me they aren’t coming back. They will find a house that is closer to bother before they make the journey back – assuming they could even find their way back.
