The material supplied by BlueScope Steel is certified to the grade originally ordered. Many products are tested and certified on the basis of batch testing. Batch testing is a process where a particular plate (or coil) from a group of plates (or coils) is tested. Based on the results of this particular plate (or coil) a decision is made about the whole group. If the particular plate (or coil) tested passes, the whole group are deemed to pass and are subsequently certified. As a consequence of this process not all plates or coils within a particular group (or batch) may be tested.
