When playing a movie file, the FE-140 turns itself off after three minutes. Whats going on?

This behavior is the result of a conflict between movie playback and Sleep Mode, a battery-saving feature that shuts off the camera after three minutes of inactivity. When you play a movie file on the cameras LCD, typically you are watching the movie and you are not interacting with the camera controls. As a result, after three minutes of playback, the camera will determine that it is idle, terminate the movie and turn itself off. By definition, this only occurs when playing movie files of greater than three minutes in length. In addition, this behavior only occurs when the camera has been powered on into Playback mode. The FE-140 can be powered on in either Shooting mode (by pressing the [POWER] button) or in Playback mode (by pressing the Playback button). If you power the camera on into Shooting mode and subsequently place the camera into Playback mode by pressing the Playback button (green arrow icon), the behavior will not occur. A firmware update has been released to address this
