When on holiday or travelling in Thailand what is the best meothod of carrying money?
don’t bother with T/C’s especially $ ones.Take a small amount of Baht for immediate use in Thailand and then have a couple of ATM cards.ATM’s are everywhere, maybe not so available in rural areas, but certainly everywhere you are likely to go.You will normally get a better exchange rate in Thailand than at home,so don’t take a lot of cash in any form.Visa cards are your best bet with the best choice of ATM’s.You can use your debit card for larger purchases or indeed a credit card but shops will add % which is technically illegal in Thailand but if you don’t play ball …..So far I have never been ripped off using my credit card, but be careful, especially when your guard is down on holiday Incidentally ,if you’re with nationwide you wont be charged for using your debit/atm in Thailand(worth opening an account b4 yougo)
