No. Even if it’s under the whelping box – which I doubt would be effective in any case. I’d not want anything electric around where I have puppies and you will find it’s far too messy to risk in any case. You need to get a proper brood lamp to hang over the whelping box – at the correct height. If you are truly serious about getting into breeding good quality puppies, assuming you bought her from a good breeder (is she on a non-breeding endorsement – this is an indication as to whether her breeder was reputable as we always put endorsement on immature stock, to be lifted, or not, later on, depending on how the puppy matures), her breeder is the person to have as your mentor, somebody who will assess your b itch when she’s fully mature, and recommend a suitable stud for her – both via pedigree, and also to minimise, not double up, on any faults she does h ave. Vets can only tell you about her overall health, and do the testing appropriate. They do NOT know about bloodlines!! I’m afraid
