When my 1997 Dodge Caravan gets down to close to a 1/2 tank of gas it cuts off on me and sputters like it is out of gas as long as I keep a full take of gas I don’t have a problem. What could be wrong? I don’t want to overpay for repairs that I don’t need. Please help? Thanks. A: I would say that your gauge isn’t registering right, you probably need a new gas gauge sending unit and it’s in the gas tank so the tank will have to be taken out to change it.
