When must the institution submit a recommendation for students who have completed their approved teacher preparation program?
Although regulations do not establish a specific time limitation for submitting college recommendations, we recommend that the institution submit its recommendations as soon after the students program completion date as possible. The program graduate cannot be issued a certificate until the college recommendation is received by OTI. Also, the timely submission of the institutional recommendation is important because the recommendation is only valid under the current regulations. Should regulations change, this may affect the validity of an institutions recommendation.
