When might RMIT counsellors make an IMPACT ASSESSMENT STATEMENT?

0

The RMIT Counselling Service will generally only be able to assess for impact of an event or of psychological issues on your academic performance if you are currently or have recently (within 2-3 weeks) engaged in counselling work at the RMIT Counselling Service. If you have not engaged in counselling at the RMIT Counselling Service over the past six months it will be necessary for the counsellor to make an initial or re-assessment of the impact on your academic performance which generally takes several sessions. After making an assessment, the counsellor will then decide whether supporting documentation in the form of an impact statement can be provided to you. During busy times the demand for counselling appointments is high and a counsellor may not be able to see you within the required time period for lodging applications.
