Answer Hello Brad – Yes, it is possible for a male dog to gain weight after he has been neutered. Be sure to keep your pet on a healthy diet and he will not gain fatty weight but will gain muscle. Female dogs can also gain weight after being spayed. Cats, male and female gain weight after being “fixed”. In both cases it is caused by a hormonal change and is considered normal.
