For Proxy errors:- Go to Edit->Preferences->Firewall Select ‘Use Proxy Firewall’ Protocol: Http Proxy Host Address: address of your proxy server Proxy Port Number: 80 Remember to restart GeneSpring For Port errors:- You (or your IT people) need to open port 10959/tcp in your firewall as GeneSpring v. 7.3 and earlier requires this port to access the server at NEBC.
