When is weed going to be legal?`?
I think it’s going to be a really long time before weed is legalized. Consider some of the implications. How is the amount of alcohol sold going to change? Do you not think the booze companies will do anything within their power to stop it? Hemp is very easy to grow, even in poor soil, and its fiber is excellent for paper-making. (The earliest known paper not made of rags, from China, is made from hemp paper. The name “Cannabis sativa” comes from the name of a Spanish city, Xativa [sp?]. It seems to have been introduced to Europe by the “Moors” (read ‘Muslims’) during the long time that what we now call Spain was Moorish territory. But I digress ….) There is no practical reason why hemp could not replace wood for papermaking, thus saving millions of trees every year. How would ‘the revenuers’ (taxation at all levels) take it?
