When is Venus visible?
The planet Venus is indeed visible during the day, but most of the time you need a telescope to be able to see it – like Mercury, Venus is always very close to the Sun and therefore easily outshone. A telescope pointed at the portion of the sky where Venus is known to be with enough contrast to differentiate between the intrinsic luminosity of the sky and the luminosity of the planet will give you the opportunity to see the planet (like here: http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?titl… ) Only when dusk falls, Venus is visible for the unaided eye too.
