When is unclaimed dividend/ interest amount transferred to the Investor Education Protection Fund of the Central Government ?
As per, Section 205 (C ) of the Companies Act 1956, any interest / dividend amounts, which remains unpaid or unclaimed for a period of 7 years from the date they became due for payment, shall be transferred by the company to the “Investor Education and Protection Fund”(“The Fund”). No investor can claim this amount thereafter from the Fund.
