The New York Yankees will face off against the Philadelphia Phillies in game one of the World Series tomorrow night at Yankee Stadium. But what New York World Series would be complete without a pep rally? Thousands of Yankee fans are expected to gather in Times Square at 12 noon tomorrow to cheer on the Bronx Bombers at a pep rally hosted by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and YES! Network’s Michael Kay, who does the play-by-play of all games for the network and is the host of ESPN Radio’s Michael Kay show. According to the mayor’s office the rally is designed to show New York’s support for the Yankees as they prepare for the first game of the 2009 World Series, their first in six years. Tthose who can’t make it to the rally are urged to wear their Yankees gear to work and school on Wednesday to show their support for their hometown team.
